Above this, you will see a calendar of events. Below this, you will see details of weekly small groups that we offer. It may seem that we are encouraging people to come to a specific event or a study. Allow me to encourage you that doing church is not the same as being the church. We love to see you, and fellowship with you! But we want to encourage you to be the church, not to just do church. Please, come be a part of our Sunday services. Please, choose one small group to be a part of. Please, pray daily for the ministry of River of Life Alliance Church, and for people in the church. Other than that, minister to your family. Go out into the community and reach the lost. Build intentional relationships with people and walk out your faith in front of them. Be the CHURCH. Remember, when you leave the church building, you are entering your mission field.

What does a service look like at River of Life Alliance Church?

We hope it is something different than many people have experienced at any other church service that they may have attended. From the time you enter the fellowship, We hope that you will be able to worship God in Spirit and in truth(see John chapter 4). We believe that the church should look like the church described in Acts 2:42-47:
Acts 2:42-47 (NIV)
They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.
We envision a church fellowship that:
Devotes themselves to the teaching of the Word and fellowship. In our services, the Word of God(The Bible)will be preached, taught, and sung. We believe that the Bible is living and active, and as we preach and teach from it, we believe God the Holy Spirit will make it relevant to you and your life.We will also devote ourselves to biblical fellowship, and that means that we will truly be a caring place where everyone will use their gifts to build up and encourage one another. This is a place where you can find real help from people who care!
Practices regular corporate and individual prayer times for the needs of the church here and around the world. God works as his people pray. God knows our needs and the needs of those around the world before we even ask. Still, He calls on us to pray as a means of developing communion with Him. By the shed blood of Jesus, we have the right to access the Father in prayer. In our worship, we will regularly access this throne of grace.
Shares with those who are less fortunate, helping people as they have need. Jesus said that the needy would always be with us. We all have needs, whether spiritual, emotional, physical, or financial. Part of our fellowship will be in meeting the needs of others as they present themselves.
Regular meeting and fellowship throughout the community- not just in a church building, we will meet in homes, coffee shops, on the athletic field, and in the places of education and commerce in our community. Jesus calls us to be salt and light in the world, and we acknowledge that our mission field is entered when we walk out of the church building. Our fellowship is meant to build and equip us so we can minister to the world!
Sharing of common experiences; meals together, activities that build fellowship and times of shared fun together. We want to be a church that prays together and plays together! The Church is the body of Christ, and the body is not just for an hour-long service on Sunday, and we also recognize that worship can (and should)be done in all places and in all situations.
Times of regular and celebratory corporate worship and praise- The author of Hebrews warns us not to forsake the assembling of ourselves together, so, of course, we will have regular service times on Sunday where we gather together to lift up the name of Christ.
Intentionally presents Gospel truths to any and all who will listen. Jesus said that we should preach the Gospel-the good news-in our Jerusalem (Marshall) (see Matthew 28:18-20). We believe that this is done with our walk (the way we live our lives) as well as our talk, because, we believe, unless people hear and respond to the good news, they cannot be saved.
Understands that the work is ours, but the result is up to the LORD- As we worship him with our whole lives, Jesus will show up in Marshall and wherever his body is. People will see the light and glorify their Father which is in heaven (See Matthew 5), and the Lord will add to our number daily those who are being saved.
